Train
loads of woodchips made from ancient forest
trees are a regular site on the Manjimup Bunbury
track. It's only a matter of time now before
this will end. There will simply be no more
oldgrowth forests left. Although the Labor
government claims to have stopped all logging
in old growth forest, conservationists and
the government differ on their interpretations
of "old growth". Collins
forest south east of Pemberton is one such
forest that Labor is allowing to be clearfelled
to help meet logging contracts.
